Open East Festival – reopening of the Olympic Park
Did you go?
For my second pro bono shoot as Saturday Night’s Alright, I was lucky enough to be involved in shooting the Open East Festival – reopening of the Olympic Park, a year after the 2012 Games. I had an amazing time at the festival, it had everything. Literally. Floating Cinema, House of Fairytales, adventure playgrounds, Milk Float, an Urban Bazaar, a 10 mile beer festival and Iron Man even made an appearance. The highlights for me were meeting (and taking photos of) the people with stalls at the Urban Bazaar and at the Art Car Boot Fair, watching the BMX stunt guys and seeing Don Letts play to an audience of happy, relaxed Londoners in the sunshine.
It was brilliant to be back in the Olympic Park again and seeing it being used in this way. These are some of my favourite photos from the day.
